Description

Electromagnetic brake(EMBR) of mold for slab is to use the electromagnetic force opposite to the direction of

molten steel flow, which is generated by the downward flow of molten steel through a strong DC static magnetic

field, to reduce the velocity of downward flow of molten steel.

Application

Electromagnetic brake(EMBR) of mold for slab is a necessary equipment for high-speed continuous casting of

conventional thick slab, continuous casting and rolling of thin slab (CSP) and endless rolling (ESP)production.

Functions

It can decrease the penetration depth of molten steel flow in the mold, stabilize molten steel flow at meniscus,

uniform temperature, and eventually reduce inclusions on the surface of slab, as well as increase the productivity of caster.
